1989: The Civil War in Northwest Georgia

The history of the War between the States as fought in Northwest Georgia. The battles from Chickamauga in 1863 to Union General William Tecumseh Sherman's march to Atlanta in 1864. It was Rome that Sherman torched first and it was from Rome, not Atlanta, that his infamous scorched earth "March to the Sea" began. With original illustrations from the period, many of them colorized.
